Nutritional Counseling

The goal of nutritional counseling is to increase awareness of:

  • dietary habits
  • the role nutrition in disease prevention and management
  • the contribution of nutrition to good health

Recent research points out that nutritional deficiencies and/or excesses contribute to an estimated 60-80% of all illnesses. Imagine what that means!

Each of us can have enormous control of our health by knowing which foods to eat and which to avoid. However, it is important to be educated in the uses of nutritional intervention (i.e. diet and researched supplements) that have been demonstrated to be helpful. Nutritional modalities can be applied for prevention, delaying the onset of illnesses and decreasing the severity of illness even in those genetically predisposed. This new field is referred to as “nutrigenomics”. Nutritional counseling is an educational program. After extensive discussion and planning, a mutually agreeable program can be created that will address your lifestyle, food preferences and specific health related issues utilizing a complete dietary program and clinically researched supplements. Close attention is given to your individual medical issues, family history, and personal habits.

In addition to physical health, there is now research available to indicate that many psychological issues can be approached successfully using nutrition as an adjunct to traditional treatment. This can be useful in increasing the effectiveness of such traditional treatments. Your nutritional counseling program is specifically designed for you and your health goals.Contact me at
